Salt Horse is an evening-length performance created by modern dancers Beth Graczyk, Yuki Enomoto, and Corrie Befort and experimental musicians Angelina Baldoz and Jason E Anderson. Scored improvisation, choreography, composed sound, and film combine to create an environment that invites an audience to pass through states of uncertainty and recognition - mysterious landscapes that reveal familiar narratives. The work is the culmination of numerous dance/music performances the four have structured and produced. Following the development of individual and group practice, and a Seattle residency in January 2007, the ensemble will meet in Japan to complete their final work. Salt Horse will premier in Japan in May 2007, followed by a later performance in Seattle.

Beth Graczyk Beth Graczyk is an active dancer and improviser
who has worked with a diverse group of artists and choreographers in
Seattle, WA, USA since 2000.Last July she toured with Bekoo to Ecuador,
and will soon arrive in Japan to perform with her dear friend Corrie
Befort.Recently Beth has been collaborating with Seattle based electronic
musician Jason Anderson, and currently co-produces a 12-hour improvisation
with dancers and musicians (next installment Portland, OR, USA Feb 2006).Outside
of dancing, she works as a Research Scientist in biochemistry at the
University of Washington, and organizes for the non-profit Dance Art
Group
Corrie Befort A professional dancer, choreographer, filmmaker,
and teacher, Corrie Befort now livesnear Tokyo after relocating from
Seattle, WA. Her current collaborative partnerships include Seattle-based
composer Tom Baker, and musicians Gregory Reynolds and Ann Adachi with
whom she performed in April in Tokyo and Nasu. For seven years she danced
in the Molly Sheldon Scott/Jarrad Powell Performance Company, and for
four with the improvisationally based Sheri Cohen Ensemble.She has
trained and performed in Brussels, Antwerp, Geneva, Vienna, Paris, and
Amsterdam.Her films have been screened in many US festivals and will
soon screen in Tokyo.
